Book Club

I believe I am a true reader at heart but I also believe that a true reader at heart would wince at the mere suggestion. I do love to read. I do. But I go through LONG periods of times when I don't read anything at all but gossip blogs and facebook updates. And my last read may or may not have been The Devil Wears Prada . My read list may not inspire literary discussions but does that mean I can't be a true reader? Ok, yes, well- maybe. But it does NOT mean that I can't start my own book club. So, I've done just that. I started my own book club in hopes that it will broaden my horizons and make me read books outside of my norm. We're in month two now with a meeting scheduled for tonight. Hoping our third book pick will be inspirational. I need a good read.

What I find Romantic at 35

A few days ago I gave Coach Hubs a bad wrap when I referred to him as romantically challenged (even tho he is admittedly so). However, today after watching him shake his booty around the house all morning getting laundry together, sweeping, and making a breakfast burrito run for me I realized that my view on romance has changed and in this new phase of my life I stand corrected and will furthermore declare Coach Hubs a romantic fool and here's why...

My Top 10 List of Things I Find Romantic at 35

10. He will wait over an hour for a Corner Cottage burrito for me.

09. He does dishes (we don't have a dishwasher(yet))

08. He will got to Target/Cosco/Ralphs for me when I'm being a recluse.

07. I haven't showered for 2 days and He still thinks I smell good.

06. He'll watch (insert ur favorite shameless reality show here) with me.

05. He doesn't snore.

04. He's ALWAYS on my side.

03. He has the most pleasant breath on Earth!

02. He still has a rockin' body.

01. Salt and Pepper, baby!

Happy Valentine's Day, Coach!

I Don't Do...

Careful ladies, what i'm about to say may make you scoff and shout, but- I don't do Valentine's day.

Frankly, it's too much work. I'm not a good planner and have learned the hard way that there are NO cards left to buy the day of vday for even the most romantically cyncial of husbands.

I don't do crowds either so dinner on Valentine's night is out.

Gifts? I mean, look, we used to do all that stuff but we've been together a really long time. And this will probably be a shocker but Coach Hubs isn't the most romantic of hubs. He's probably down right romantically challenged. I pretty much let go of the whole valentine's day pipe dream after our very first valentine's day together. He gifted me with a horrendous bracelet that he later admitted he bought (last minute) off his dad. Ouch. I know.

So instead of talking about Valentine's passed I thought I'd share pics with you of what Valentine's present holds for me.....a new kitchen.....here's some pics of Coach Hubs hard at work.
